Twitter Main Page vs. Tweetdeck vs. Peoplebrowsr.com Review!

After receiving several “tweet” questions regarding why I like peoplebrowsr.com twitter tool over tweetdeck or just the regular twitter.com page, I decided to do a video to try to explain why. Plus it is a lot easier than trying to explain in “140 characters or less” on twitter.com

After I complete the video I figure I will point fellow twitter peep’s to the video.

Thanks, and until next time – TAKE CARE!

Really like the video Phil – Thanks very much. If you add a url inline you will see a prompt that asks if you want to shorten it.
Welcome any suggestions you have to help us finish off our alpha :-)

Thanks for the great video. After very similar challenges with Tweetdeck, I’ve now converted to PeopleBrowsr as well. I whole heartedly recommend it. The funny thing is, I’ve written over 100 Twitter Tips (Twittin’ Secrets – free) and built a killer “MyTwitter Toolbar” (free) and I actually recommended People Browsr for months before I switched over myself.

I’ll be covering some of the advanced strategies I use (including People Browsr) in my Twitter Tweni.us program.

So again, thanks for the viodeo.

Phil, thanks for keeping me updated. This was great! I use to have Modzilla, but I have a new computer now. Should I go ahead and install it again? Or do you have another software you would recommend?

Great video. I’d wondered about Peoplebrowser. I use Chrome, though, which isn’t mentioned as being compatible.

However, I was surprised that some of the “differences” explained here are features offered on TweetDeck. You can easily customize API in TweetDeck to alter refresh rate on the stream, DM’s, and @replies. Set properly, you can follow thousands and never “time out.” And there are search and filter features on TweetDeck that allow for the same topic search described here.

One difference that could have been mentioned is Peoplebrowser is a browser-dependent app, and TweetDeck a desk app. I personally prefer the latter, and TweetDeck runs completely in the background while I’m doing other things. And yes, I’m totally hooked on the handy multi-format URL shortening tool.

Still, if I get an itch to explore browser apps, I may just have to see if Peoplebrowser will work on Chrome. I do like some of the customization tools you demonstrated. Thanks for the info!

Hey Phil, thanks for the great video! I’ll be signing up for peoplebrowsr now. :-)
The one I use now is Tweetlater, which I am pretty happy with so far. I’ll compare that with peoplebrowsr.

  11. I kind of like the industry peoplebrowsr which immediately highlight the positive and negative comments! This is definitely good for business conference as well since more and more conference have twitters around.

  12. Phil,

Thank you so much for this great rundown of these different Twitter management tools – it was EXACTLY what I was looking for.

    Cheers,
